GENERAL COURSE DESCRIPTION :
The Online TESOL Program offered by Western Town College is designed to teach non-native speakers how to teach English in their own countries. It is a self-paced program consisting of video lectures, assignments, two exams, and two presentations (which are performed and evaluated at the Korean office). The students and teacher(s) will communicate regularly via e-mail and in the online forum.
The course content is based in large part on the Western Town College in-house TESOL program and consists of in-depth discussions of the theoretical aspects of teaching and learning, including (but not limited to) the study of contemporary language teaching methodology, theories of language acquisition, the teaching of grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and the four language skills. Students will have many opportunities to put this theory into practice by completing their assignments and presenting lessons for each of the major components of the course.
Students receive feedback from the instructor (via e-mail) on all assignments, presentations, and exams, and those who successfully complete the program receive a diploma and letter of reference from the institution.
